Divide and Rule!
With my limited exposure
To the Indian IT enclosure
Well, here is my disclosure
With restraint and composure
Divide and rule is the golden rule.
Across all teams, this is a common tool!
Making Profit is the primary vision
So, cutting costs is forever a mission
Hierarchy strongly governs each division
Of customers and vendors, it’s a complex relation
Divide and rule is the golden rule.
Do whatever to let profits rule!
Promotion for some, and increment for some
Even the employee salary structure is random
People are hesitant to interact with freedom
Mostly, it’s routine work and some boredom
Divide and rule is the golden rule.
Individual benefits drive the employee work schedule!
Having HR, Finance and other support functions is great
But they need to work according to a preset template
Diversity, inclusiveness, and employee safety can wait
Priority is to ensure that the company reputation is
adequate
Divide and rule is the golden rule.
Display of support is the greater rule!
Employees having the ability to dodge work, abound
Though rare, those who work hard can also be found
It is never enough to just be around
Showcase more and create some sound
Divide and rule is the golden rule.
Yeah, working with passion is not so cool!
Responding to emails and calls is not always necessary
Feeling important is the object primary
Being too brief or curt are options further dreary
Non-responses after many reminders makes you wary and weary
Divide and rule is the golden rule.
Lack of communication makes you a subject of ridicule!
The values of liberty, honesty, integrity
That ought to be preserved for posterity
Exist only in the governance scheme
Less in practice, more as a dream
Divide and rule is the golden rule.
If you still care about values, you might be a fool!
With hope and optimism, as we endure
There is just no need to feel insecure
We need to be open, we need to share
Let’s work together, let’s work with care
Divide and rule is an olden rule.
Let more ideas, thoughts, debates rule!
